I was very excited when moved into my new place with my boyfriend because I got to have an office to do my readings in. I am still adding to it and changing it around some, but for now it is a fun space to go into when it’s time to do a reading.
In there is Baloo, the big stuffed toy bear in the corner when walk into the room. Originally he was put in there to keep him out of the way when we first moved into the house. More importantly though, we wanted him off the floor so my 13-year old pug-shi tzu, Sammy, wouldn’t use it to add to his collection of “girlfriends”.
Generally before a reading I will light some incense (smell depends on the day and energy around me, usually I use lemongrass or something sweeter like mango). I have a little pup bed for Sammy off to the side so if he chooses to join me he can be comfy as well (mind you, he prefers being in my lap, like he is right now). My Guides will direct me to usually 2-3 decks to start the reading with (some of which are my own designs), and then I will phone my client. From there it’s between what the Guides feel needs to come out and what client has for questions that day.
In the pictures on the page marked “My Reading Room”, there are some bracelets at the bottom. Those are ones I have made for friends and/or family. I enjoy making gifts when I can and putting my energy into it. I also greatly enjoy picking out the colours for the jewellery because I find even if it’s not a crystal, the colour itself can hold a certain energy, feeling, warmth or joy around it. That’s why with most of my clients I do suggest even if don’t have crystals or necessarily believe in their healing powers, even opening a screen on your computer (or phone) to look at an image of the crystal or just to see a specific colour can spark some happiness into your day.
The tattoo shown on the “My Reading Room” page is the one on my back. I included that because it has a history to it, plus I had it worked on 4 different times by 3 different tattoo artists over roughly 14 years. It originally was just the black ankh with the words “love” and “hate”. When I first got it I was in university and feeling very lost at the time with my studies and had recently moved to Alberta from B.C. I also had a friend at the time who would tell me when I called her she was thinking of me right before the call and because of this I was going to have a long life. Some days that was awesome to hear, and other days that felt like torture because I was missing my friends and feeling depressed. A few years later when I was getting married, my mother wanted me to do something with the tattoo thinking her family would not enjoy seeing such a dark tattoo with the wedding dress. So I randomly decided to add the butterflies (and wanted the one on the “love” side to look like it was flying, whereas the one on the “hate” side was being grounded). Years later during my separation and then eventual divorce (holy that’s a process!), I decided on what would’ve been a wedding anniversary to add to the tattoo and change it up. That’s when I added the tree around it. I wanted to be reminded of the growth and changes my life had gone through and be optimistic for my growth in the future. At the time I only added the tree so the rest of the tattoo was untouched. Jump forward another year and half (or so) and I didn’t love that the tattoo didn’t look or feel like one whole piece, so met with a third artist to have it all retouched and added a few blossoming leaves to the tree. And there you have it… that’s the image on the “My Reading Room” page. The whole point of me sharing this story is a reminder to you, and me, that changes happen and some are within our control, some not. But with any change, addition or subtraction, there can be great growth and progress. I am very happy with how the tattoo looks now and do enjoy being able to show it off more in the summers. ๐
That’s a little bit more about me. Sammy is yawning at the moment (and sighing)… I think he’s trying to tell me it’s time to get a cup of tea, haha! He is honestly my fur baby. If you are ever on a call with me and hear what I’ve been told sounds like a bunch of farting noises… please believe it is NOT me! Sammy is near me and happily snoozing and snoring away. He just likes to be where the action is, LOL. So take care and have a lovely day!! Hope to chat with you sometime in the future. ๐
